The Wing Assignment

The Wing Assignment is an Arts Project open to Artists of all disciplines. The assignment is to create an artwork inspired by or using a birds wing.

“One for Sorrow, Two for Joy..” artwork created for The Wing Assignment by Lucy Wellby “because you never really know what you are going to get when you lift the screen or peel back the paper….” Lucy studied Illustration at the Kent Institute of Art and Design, and Fine Art Printmaking at Camberwell College of Art.Lucy taught art in London secondary schools for several years, and worked on community based art projects in Japan, Mexico and London. She has worked alongside different artists producing educational material and running workshops for gallery education departments.Her work has been mostly been in etching and stone lithography, but more recently in screen-printing.  Lucy currently works for an exam board, runs art projects in schools and makes her work at London Print Studio.
